Member Update – 8/13

*NEW* FRA University – Wine Tasting, Thursday, August 24, 5:00-7:00 pm, FRA Clubhouse

Come and join us for a wine tasting event where we will compare three varietals from three different regions of the world (e.g., Loire, Rhone, Bordeaux, California and others). Our resident wine expert Alper Caglayan will introduce us to the basics of wine tasting vocabulary so that we will all record our own notes during tasting and discuss them. The vocabulary will be grounded in familiar everyday tastes and smells. Color commentary will be provided by wine aficionado Gail Erath.
The tastings will be blind in order not to get influenced by labels, which we will disclose after each flight. We plan to taste three white and six red wines. The tasting is geared to beginners to let them venture beyond Chardonnay or Merlot in their wine journey. The event will be capped by Alper’s recommendations on wine buying and answering member questions.
The tasting will be limited to 12 people. The cost of the wine tasting will be $15-20/person depending on the wines available. We ask also that each attendee bring three wine glasses to use in the tasting.

Children’s Program – Wednesday, August 23, 3:00-5:00 pm

PRIZES! FRA’s last Children’s Program for Summer 2017!  Come and join in the fun and play B.I.N.G.O at the FRA Clubhouse.  Prizes awarded to winners of each round. Recommended ages 6-16.
