Clubhouse
The original clubhouse used to be located on Fortunes Rocks Beach. In 1978, after a winter storm dislodged the structure from its location on the beach side of the adjacent road and relocated it to the tennis court. The building was then moved from the tennis court next to the pond. After serving its useful life, in 2024, the clubhouse was demolished, and replaced with an open air pavilion.
FRA open air pavilion has been inspired by pavilions up and down the coast of Maine that brings communities together - Waterhouse Pavilion in Kennebunk, Seaside Pavilion in OOB, Depot Pavilion at Thompson’s Point in Portland, Blacksmith Shop at Maine Maritime Museum. FRA pavilion is a coastal design that works well with site and function while integrating with natural landscape. Within the design theme, longevity, minimal maintenance, everyday use functionality and sustainability were selected to drive design details. High quality sustainable construction elements were chosen for longevity in order to ensure a long lifespan.
The main patio along with first floor deck, and entrance provide 55 ft continuous cement slab to handle a capacity of 90 members under shade for general meetings, socials, music events. The covered deck serves as an adult card and board game and children play room. The upper deck provides a relaxing lounge function with a spectacular view.
